Stäubli Bulkhead Panel Mount MC4 Connector Pair - 10 Pack

For solar wiring that needs to pass cleanly through an enclosure, canopy panel, distribution box or equipment housing, the Stäubli MC4 Panel Mount Connectors provide a secure fixed connection rather than running loose cable through the surface.

This pack includes 10 matching socket and plug pairs from Stäubli’s Original MC4 range. Each connector mounts directly through a suitable panel using its threaded body and locking nut, creating a neat external MC4 connection while allowing the internal solar wiring to terminate directly onto the rear crimp contact. They are designed for 4mm² and 6mm² solar conductors and are a good fit for 4WD, caravan, marine and fixed solar systems where you want the connection point properly supported and easy to disconnect when required.

Made for Panel and Enclosure Mounting

Unlike a standard inline MC4 connector, these receptacles are designed to mount directly through a rigid surface. This makes them particularly useful on electrical enclosures, canopy panels, solar combiner boxes and equipment housings where you want a clean transition between external solar cabling and the wiring inside the system. A threaded mounting arrangement holds the connector firmly in place rather than leaving the connection hanging from the cable.

Genuine Stäubli MC4 Connection

The connectors use Stäubli’s MULTILAM contact system to maintain consistent contact pressure through the electrical connection. Maximum contact resistance is specified at 0.25mΩ, helping minimise voltage loss and heat generation across the connector when correctly crimped and assembled.

Using genuine matching Stäubli components also avoids the compatibility uncertainty that can come from mating physically similar connectors from different manufacturers.

Suitable for 4mm² and 6mm² Solar Cable

This /6 version accepts 4mm² and 6mm² conductors and uses a 5.8mm crimp opening.

Under IEC 62852, the connector is rated to 39A with 4mm² cable and 45A with 6mm² cable at 1250V DC.

Under UL 6703, the corresponding ratings are 35A with 12 AWG cable and 50A with 10 AWG cable at 1500V DC.

Correct conductor preparation and crimp tooling are important to achieving the specified mechanical and electrical performance.

Weather Protection

When correctly installed and mated with compatible Stäubli MC4 connectors, the panel receptacles carry IP65 and IP68 ingress protection.

The system is designed for outdoor photovoltaic use and operates across an ambient temperature range of minus 40°C to plus 85°C. Unmated connectors should still be protected from contamination and weather using suitable Stäubli sealing caps.

Installation Note

These connectors require correctly stripped conductors and an appropriate crimp tool. Panel cutout, mounting torque, conductor preparation and crimping should follow Stäubli’s current MC4 panel receptacle installation instructions. The connector rating also depends on the conductor size and certification standard being applied.
