Scanstrut Ventura Dual USB-C Socket 12V/24V

The Scanstrut Ventura Dual USB-C Socket provides a neat, weather resistant charging point for 4WD canopies, campers, caravans, boats and other touring setups where you want USB-C power available outside the vehicle. With two USB-C ports behind a spring loaded protective lid, it gives you convenient charging for phones, tablets, cameras, speakers and compatible laptops without running cables back inside the canopy or camper. It works on both 12V and 24V electrical systems, with higher USB-C charging capability available when connected to a 24V supply.

Dual USB-C Charging

Two USB-C connections give you a compact charging point for modern devices without relying on cigarette lighter adaptors or loose USB chargers. The socket supports USB Power Delivery and Quick Charge compatible devices, automatically negotiating an appropriate charging profile with the connected device.

On a 12V electrical system, the highest supported USB-C profile is 12V at 3A, providing up to 36W.

On a 24V system, the available profiles extend to 20V at 3A, allowing up to 60W for compatible devices such as larger tablets and USB-C laptops.

Actual charging output depends on the connected device, cable and available system voltage.

Made for External Installations

The Ventura housing is designed for exposed locations on caravans, campers, 4WD canopies and marine applications. With the lid fully closed, the front of the socket carries IP68 and IP69K protection to help keep out water, dust and debris.

A built in gasket seals against the mounting surface, while the spring loaded lid clicks shut when the outlet is not being used. The waterproof rating applies to the front of the correctly installed unit with the lid closed and does not make the product suitable for locations where it may become submerged.

Spring Loaded Ventura Lid

The lid incorporates Scanstrut's 90 degree holding feature, allowing it to remain conveniently open while the USB ports are in use. Once charging is finished, the lid closes over the ports to provide a clean, low profile finish and protect the connections while travelling. The Dual USB-C Socket shares the same design language as the rest of the Ventura range, making it easy to install USB, 12V, Anderson, solar and water connections alongside each other without a mismatched collection of external sockets.

Simple 12V or 24V Installation

The socket operates from a 10–32V DC input and draws a maximum of 6A. Installation uses a standard 32mm hole saw with four mounting screws, making it straightforward to add to a suitable flat canopy, caravan or camper panel. The rear electrical connections use 6.3 × 0.8mm spade terminals.

An appropriately sized fuse or circuit breaker should be installed between the socket and the power source, with cable size selected to suit the current, cable length and acceptable voltage drop. Correct cable sizing becomes particularly important if you want to achieve the highest supported USB-C charging output.

Low Standby Consumption

When powered but not actively charging, the socket has a standby draw of just 0.01W. That makes it well suited to permanently installed touring systems where the socket may remain connected to the auxiliary battery between trips.
