For anyone building a serious 4WD recovery setup from scratch, the Saber Offroad Ultimate Recovery Kit 12K takes a lot of the guesswork out of putting the right gear together. Packed into one dedicated recovery bag, the kit covers both kinetic and winch recoveries with a 12,500kg kinetic rope, winch extension rope, tree trunk protector, Ezy-Glide recovery ring and a selection of heavy-duty soft shackles. Gloves and a winch dampener are included too, so the gear you’re most likely to need during a recovery stays together and ready to go. These kit's are batch tested to destruction through a NATA-accredited facility in Melbourne, with components clearly labelled with their applicable ratings and information.

One Kit for Kinetic and Winch Recoveries

The 12K Ultimate Kit gives you equipment for kinetic vehicle-to-vehicle recoveries as well as winch recoveries, so you’re not relying on one recovery method when conditions change. The 9m kinetic rope stretches under load to progressively transfer energy between the recovering vehicle and the stuck vehicle, producing a smoother application of force than a traditional low-stretch connection. It is recommended to select a kinetic rope with a rating around two to three times the vehicle weight. 

Lightweight Soft Recovery Connections

Rather than filling the bag with traditional steel shackles and pulley blocks, Saber includes several high-capacity soft recovery components. Two 20,000kg HDX Technora-bound soft shackles cover your primary recovery connections, while an additional 18,000kg sheathed soft shackle is included for use with the Ezy-Glide recovery ring. For touring vehicles where payload matters, using properly rated synthetic recovery equipment can significantly reduce the weight and bulk of the gear you carry.

Ezy-Glide Recovery Ring

The Ezy-Glide Recovery Ring provides a lightweight alternative to a traditional snatch block when working with compatible synthetic winch rope and soft shackles. With a 12,500kg Working Load Limit, it gives you the ability to redirect a winch line or configure an appropriate recovery system without carrying a conventional steel pulley block.

Winch Extension and Tree Protection

The included 20m 9,500kg winch extension rope gives you additional reach when the available recovery point is further away than your winch line allows. A 5m 13,000kg tree trunk protector is also supplied for suitable tree-based winch recoveries, giving you a wide connection around the trunk rather than wrapping a winch rope directly around it. 

Everything Has a Home

All of the recovery equipment is supplied in Saber's Ultimate Recovery Gear Bag, keeping the kit together rather than spread throughout drawers, toolboxes and storage compartments. When something goes wrong on the track, having the gear organised and easy to identify is almost as useful as having it in the first place.

Choosing the Right Recovery Kit

Recovery equipment should always be selected to suit the vehicles involved, their recovery points and the recovery method being used.

Saber recommends selecting a kinetic recovery rope rated approximately two to three times the weight of the vehicle. Always confirm the ratings of every component and recovery point before beginning a recovery, and follow Saber's current instructions for use.
