At the centre of the kit is Saber’s 9m 4,000kg kinetic recovery rope, paired with two 7,000kg HDX Technora-bound soft shackles. Recovery Gear Sized for Lighter 4WDs

Going bigger isn’t always better when it comes to kinetic recovery ropes. A kinetic rope needs to stretch under the load of the vehicles involved to progressively store and transfer energy. If the rope is dramatically oversized for a lightweight vehicle, it may not stretch as intended and can behave more like a static connection. Saber recommends its 4,000kg kinetic rope for lighter 4WDs and compact SUVs, like the Suzuki Jimny, Subaru Forester, Nissan X-Trail and similar vehicles.

9m Kinetic Recovery Rope

The included 9m recovery rope is rated to a 4,000kg maximum breaking strength and is designed to stretch under load during a kinetic recovery. That stored energy is released progressively to help recover a bogged vehicle rather than relying on the abrupt loading associated with a low-stretch tow connection. The rope uses heavy-duty Nylon 66 construction with an outer treatment designed to resist UV exposure, moisture, dirt and sand.

Twin 7,000kg Soft Shackles

Two Saber 7,000kg HDX Technora-bound soft shackles are included to provide lightweight recovery connections where suitable soft-shackle-compatible recovery points are available.

Compared with traditional steel shackles, soft shackles are lighter, compact to store and easy to handle around the vehicle.

Compact Enough to Leave in the Fourby

The complete kit weighs just 1.75kg and packs into a clear-top canvas bag measuring 560 × 180 × 90mm. That makes it an easy foundation recovery kit for smaller vehicles where storage and payload are limited, while leaving room to add other recovery equipment as your setup grows.

Choosing the Right Kinetic Rope

Kinetic recovery equipment should be matched to the weight of the vehicles involved. We recommend choosing a kinetic rope with a minimum breaking strength approximately two to three times the vehicle’s loaded mass and sizing the rope around the lighter vehicle involved in the recovery. Always use properly rated recovery points and confirm that every component in the recovery system is suitable for the loads involved.
