Why Size Matters

Kinetic recovery relies on the rope stretching under load, storing energy and then progressively transferring that energy to the stuck vehicle. That means choosing a rope appropriate to the vehicles involved is important. A recovery rope that is dramatically oversized for the vehicle may not stretch as intended, while one that is too small may be overloaded. The 12K kit sits firmly in Saber's heavy-duty 4WD range, making it well suited to larger touring vehicles and loaded setups where a lighter recovery rope may no longer be appropriate.

12,500kg Kinetic Recovery Rope

At the centre of the kit is a 9m kinetic recovery rope with a 12,500kg minimum breaking strength. The rope is manufactured from heavy-duty Nylon 66, allowing it to flex and store energy during a correctly performed kinetic recovery rather than transferring the entire load abruptly between vehicles. Its outer treatment also helps protect the rope against UV exposure, moisture and abrasive contaminants such as dirt and sand.

Protected Recovery Eyes

The rope eyes use a soft vinyl polymer coating to provide additional protection in an area that regularly sees contact and movement during recovery. Keeping the eyes protected helps reduce unnecessary wear while still allowing the rope to remain flexible and easy to handle.

Twin 20,000kg HDX Soft Shackles

Two Saber 20,000kg HDX Technora-bound soft shackles are included with the kit. For compatible recovery points, soft shackles provide a lightweight alternative to traditional steel bow shackles and are considerably easier to store and handle around the vehicle. Having two included also gives you flexibility when connecting the kinetic rope between appropriately rated recovery points.

Light Enough to Keep in the Fourby

The complete kit packs into a clear-top canvas recovery bag measuring 560 × 180 × 90mm. At 4.6kg for the full kit, it gives you a substantial heavy-duty recovery setup without taking up excessive space in a drawer, canopy or recovery compartment.
