When you want the flexibility of a winch recovery ring without carrying a traditional steel snatch block, the Saber Ezy-Glide Recovery Ring Kit puts the core components together in one compact package. The kit combines Saber’s 12,500kg WLL Ezy-Glide Recovery Ring with an 18,000kg sheathed soft shackle and clear-top storage bag. The ring is manufactured from T6 billet aluminium and has been specifically developed for use with synthetic winch rope and soft shackles, giving you a lightweight way to redirect a winch line or configure a more versatile recovery setup.

A Lightweight Alternative to a Snatch Block

Traditional snatch blocks work well, but they can add a surprising amount of weight and bulk to a touring recovery kit. The Ezy-Glide uses a compact aluminium recovery ring instead, giving you another way to redirect your synthetic winch rope or configure an appropriate winch recovery system without carrying a large steel pulley assembly. The ring itself measures just 143mm across, making it easy to keep in a drawer or recovery bag until it's needed.

Made with Winch Rope in Mind

Recovery rings rely on the synthetic winch rope sliding around the outer groove of the ring under load, so the shape and finish of that surface matter. Saber developed the Ezy-Glide in consultation with synthetic rope manufacturers, with the ring geometry intended to reduce unnecessary wear and fatigue on the winch rope while still keeping the unit compact. The free-form centre also provides a broad contact area for the connecting soft shackle.

12,500kg Working Load Limit

The Ezy-Glide carries a 12,500kg Working Load Limit. It's important to distinguish WLL from minimum breaking strength. WLL is the manufacturer's specified working load for the ring rather than the point at which the component is expected to fail. Every other component in the recovery system still needs to be appropriately rated for the loads involved.

18,000kg Sheathed Soft Shackle

The kit includes Saber's 18K Soft Shackle, manufactured from SaberPro fibre with an 18,000kg minimum breaking strength. An abrasion-resistant protective sheath covers the working section of the shackle, providing another layer between the load-bearing fibres and the recovery equipment they're connected around. The sheath improves abrasion protection but doesn't make the shackle suitable for sharp edges, burrs or damaged recovery points.

Synthetic Winch Rope Only

The Saber Ezy-Glide Recovery Ring is specifically designed for use with:

• Synthetic winch rope
• Soft shackles

It should not be used with steel winch cable or conventional steel shackles through the centre of the ring. Using the components they're designed around helps protect both the ring and your recovery equipment while allowing the system to operate as intended.

Easy to Keep Together

The supplied clear-top recovery bag keeps the ring and shackle together so you're not digging through different compartments when it's time to set up a recovery. The complete kit weighs 2.03kg and packs down to 290 × 225 × 200mm.
