A properly configured recovery bridle lets you connect to two appropriately rated recovery points instead of concentrating the entire recovery load through a single point. The Saber Bridle & Soft Shackle Kit combines a 5m SaberPro recovery bridle with two sheathed soft shackles, giving you a lightweight setup for distributing recovery loads across the front or rear of a suitably equipped 4WD.

Why Use a Recovery Bridle?

Many 4WDs are fitted with a pair of rated recovery points rather than one central recovery point. A bridle connects those two points and allows the recovery load to be shared across them when the system is configured correctly. This can reduce the load being applied through a single recovery point and help produce a more balanced pull across the vehicle.

It’s particularly useful during kinetic and winch recoveries where the vehicle manufacturer or recovery-point supplier recommends using both points. A bridle does not increase the rating of the vehicle’s recovery points, so every connection in the recovery system still needs to be appropriately rated.

Extended 5 Metre Length

All three Saber bridles are 5 metres long. The additional length allows the bridle to form a more gradual angle between the vehicle’s recovery points and the recovery rope, helping reduce the sideways component of force being applied to each point compared with a very short equaliser strap. Actual load distribution will still depend on recovery-point spacing, bridle angle and the direction of pull.

10mm – 9,000kg

The bridle should be selected with consideration for the rating of the recovery rope, the vehicle recovery points and every other component in the system.

Two Sheathed Soft Shackles Included

The kit includes two Saber soft shackles with abrasion-resistant protective sheaths. These provide lightweight connections between the bridle and compatible recovery points without introducing the weight and bulk of conventional steel bow shackles.

The protective sheath adds another layer between the load-bearing fibres and the recovery point, helping reduce everyday abrasion during use. As with any synthetic recovery equipment, avoid sharp edges, burrs or damaged recovery points.

Lightweight Synthetic Construction

The SaberPro bridle uses the same family of high-strength synthetic fibre Saber uses throughout its recovery range. Moving to a synthetic bridle and soft-shackle setup helps reduce the weight and bulk of the recovery gear carried in the vehicle while remaining easy to handle in mud, sand and awkward recovery situations.

Important Recovery Note

Always confirm that both vehicle recovery points are suitably rated and designed for the recovery being performed. A bridle should not be used to make unsuitable tie-down points or unrated mounting points safe for vehicle recovery. Inspect the bridle, shackles and recovery points before every use and follow the current instructions supplied by Saber and the recovery-point manufacturer.
