Designed Around Soft Shackles

Many traditional recovery hitches were originally designed around steel bow shackles, which means the attachment point doesn't necessarily provide the shape or bend radius synthetic equipment prefers.

The recovery eye has a large, smooth radius specifically intended for soft shackles, allowing the fibres to bend more gradually through the connection. This helps reduce concentrated loading and unnecessary wear on your soft recovery gear.

20,000kg Minimum Breaking Strength

Despite weighing only 1.29kg, the Saber Aluminium Recovery Hitch carries a 20,000kg minimum breaking strength. That gives you substantial recovery capacity in a much lighter package than many conventional steel hitch receivers. The rating of the recovery hitch doesn't increase the rating of the towbar or vehicle it's attached to. Your towbar, receiver, mounting hardware and every other component in the recovery system must still be suitable for the loads involved.

Fits Standard 50mm Tow Hitch Receivers

The hitch is designed for standard 50 × 50mm / 2" tow hitch receivers, including AS4177-style receiver systems. Before use, always check the receiver itself is correctly fitted and suitable for vehicle recovery. A towbar's towing capacity and its suitability as a recovery point are not automatically the same thing.

The hitch can be positioned to provide either a horizontal or vertical recovery orientation where the receiver configuration allows it. That gives you more flexibility in how the soft shackle sits through the recovery eye and can help reduce unnecessary twisting in different recovery setups.

Billet Aluminium Construction

Machining the hitch from billet aluminium keeps weight down while still providing the strength required for serious recovery work. At just 1.29kg, it's considerably easier to carry in a recovery bag or vehicle drawer than many equivalent steel designs, while the polished finish keeps the overall design simple and corrosion resistant.

Important Fitment & Recovery Note

This hitch is specifically designed to be used with soft shackles and compatible synthetic recovery equipment rather than conventional steel bow shackles through the recovery eye. Always confirm that the towbar receiver, vehicle mounting points, soft shackle and every other component in the recovery system are appropriately rated and suitable for the recovery being performed.
