Product details
A soft shackle is one of the easiest ways to reduce the amount of heavy steel hardware in your recovery kit, and the Saber 12K adds a protective sheath for the areas most likely to see wear during use. Made from Saber's proprietary SaberPro fibre, the shackle has a 12,000kg minimum breaking strength while weighing just 150g. The abrasion-resistant protective sheath adds another layer between the load-bearing fibres and the recovery point, making it a practical choice for 4WD recoveries where your gear regularly sees dirt, sand and rough conditions.
Key Features
- 12,000kg minimum breaking strength
- SaberPro fibre construction
- Abrasion-resistant protective sheath

- Saber rated recovery gear is batch tested to destruction through a NATA-accredited laboratory
Protection Where It Matters
Soft shackles are incredibly strong for their weight, but like any synthetic recovery equipment, abrasion and edge loading need to be considered. The protective sheath provides an additional barrier around the shackle where it contacts the recovery point, helping protect the load-bearing fibres against everyday abrasion and wear. It's particularly useful for a touring recovery kit where the shackle may regularly be exposed to dirt, sand, mud and the general punishment that comes with off-road travel.
Lightweight Without the Bulk
At only 150g, the Saber 12K Soft Shackle delivers substantial recovery capacity without adding another heavy piece of steel hardware to your recovery bag. They're also compact and flexible, making them easier to store and handle around a vehicle than a similarly capable traditional shackle.
Use with Suitable Recovery Points
The protective sheath adds abrasion resistance, but it doesn't make a soft shackle suitable for sharp, damaged or poorly finished recovery points. For best performance, use soft shackles with properly rated recovery points that provide a smooth contact surface and suitable bend radius. Inspect both the shackle and recovery point before every use, and retire the shackle if you find cuts, significant abrasion or other damage.
Easy to Inspect and Maintain
Before each recovery, check the shackle and protective sheath for signs of damage, cuts or excessive wear. After muddy or sandy recoveries, remove trapped grit, rinse the shackle as required and allow it to dry before storing it away. Keeping synthetic recovery gear clean helps prevent abrasive contaminants from working their way into the fibres.
