Product details
When roof space is limited, the shape of a solar panel can matter just as much as its wattage. The Exotronic 80W Narrow Fusion Fixed Solar Panel measures just 355mm wide, making it particularly useful for 4WDs, caravans, campers and marine installations where roof racks, hatches, vents or other equipment leave long narrow sections of usable space. Inside the compact black frame are high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon cells rated to 25.2% cell efficiency, giving you 80W of solar capacity from a footprint measuring only 1060 × 355mm.

Made for Narrow Roof Spaces
A lot of touring vehicles have plenty of roof length but very little uninterrupted width once racks, roof vents, aerials and other accessories are installed. At 1060mm long but only 355mm wide, this panel gives you another way to use those narrow sections of roof instead of leaving potentially useful solar space empty. That makes it particularly handy for:
- 4WD roof racks
- Canopies
- Camper trailers
- Caravans
- Boats
- Narrow shed or off-grid installations
Multiple panels can also be combined where additional capacity is required, provided the array configuration remains within the voltage and current limits of the solar regulator.
N-Type TOPCon Cell Technology
The Fusion Series uses N-Type TOPCon — Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact — solar cells. Compared with older P-Type technologies, N-Type TOPCon cells offer higher efficiency potential, lower long-term degradation and strong performance under lower irradiance conditions. For a touring setup, the higher cell efficiency is particularly useful because roof space is often the limiting factor. The goal isn't simply to chase a larger efficiency number — it's to produce more useful power from the space you actually have available.
18-Wire Busbar Design
Using a larger number of fine conductors helps reduce the distance electrical current needs to travel through the cell and spreads current collection across more of the cell surface. This can help reduce resistive losses while also improving electrical redundancy compared with older cell designs using fewer, larger busbars.
Built for Permanent Installations
The panel uses 3.2mm tempered glass with a black anodised aluminium frame, giving it the rigid construction expected from a permanently mounted solar module. An IP68 junction box and fully potted electrical connections help protect the rear electrical components against moisture ingress, while salt mist and ammonia resistance make the panel suitable for coastal, marine and agricultural environments.
Low-Light Performance
TOPCon technology performs well under lower light levels, helping the panel continue producing useful energy as available sunlight changes throughout the day. Partial shade will still reduce solar output, particularly when individual cells or sections of a panel are obstructed, so positioning and array layout remain important when designing a touring solar system.
For a 12V battery system, the panel should be connected through a suitable solar regulator rather than directly to the battery. Its electrical characteristics also allow multiple matching panels to be configured in series or parallel where appropriate, provided the complete array remains within the regulator's maximum PV voltage, current and power limits.
Great For
- 4WD roof-mounted solar
- Canopy installations
- Caravans and campers
- Marine solar systems
- Narrow roof spaces
- Remote sheds
- Small off-grid systems
- Supplementing an existing compatible solar array
