Product details
The Exotronic 12V 180Ah Alpha Series Lithium Battery packs a substantial amount of usable power into a familiar N70-sized case, making it a great option when you want more battery capacity without giving up half your canopy or caravan storage.
With 180Ah of LiFePO4 capacity, a 200A JBD Battery Management System and support for up to a 2000W inverter, it's well suited to touring setups running fridges, lighting, inverters, water pumps and other everyday off-grid loads.
Bluetooth monitoring, a 1.2A active cell balancer, IP67 protection and an integrated on/off/reset button are all built in, while the 10% state-of-charge pre-trip alarm gives you an early warning before the BMS reaches low-voltage shutdown.

180Ah in a Familiar N70 Footprint
One of the biggest advantages of the Alpha 180Ah is how much capacity Exotronic has managed to fit into a relatively compact battery case.
At approximately 330 × 172 × 215mm, it follows the familiar N70-style footprint used in many 4WD, caravan and camper installations, making it easier to upgrade an existing system without completely redesigning the available battery space.
For touring setups where space and payload both matter, 180Ah provides a useful middle ground between a compact 100Ah system and the considerably larger battery banks required for higher-capacity builds.
Plenty of Current for Larger Loads
The integrated 200A JBD BMS allows the battery to continuously supply up to 200A, giving it enough discharge capacity for considerably larger loads than many compact lithium batteries.
That makes it a good match for systems running up to a 2000W inverter, alongside the normal fridge, lighting, water pump and 12V accessories found in a touring setup.
As always, the inverter, cabling, fuse protection and electrical system should be correctly sized for the expected load.
Warning Before the Battery Trips
One of our favourite features of the larger Alpha batteries is the built-in pre-trip alarm.
When the battery reaches approximately 10% state of charge, an audible and visual alarm operates for around 60 seconds. Rather than simply having the battery suddenly shut down when the BMS reaches its low-voltage protection point, you get some warning that it's time to reduce your loads or get the charger running.
When you're off-grid and relying on the battery to keep your fridge and other essentials running, that little bit of warning can be genuinely useful.
Bluetooth Battery Monitoring
The integrated JBD BMS includes Bluetooth, allowing you to see what the battery is doing directly from your phone through the Exotronic Alpha Series Battery App.
You can monitor information including:
-
State of charge
-
Charge and discharge current
-
Individual cell voltages
-
Battery temperature
-
Charge and discharge MOSFET status
-
Active alarms and BMS protection events
It gives you a far better understanding of your battery system than relying on voltage alone.
IP67 Protection for Touring and Marine Use
The sealed ABS housing carries an IP67 rating, providing a high level of protection against dust and water ingress.
That makes the Alpha 180Ah particularly well suited to 4WD canopies, caravans, camper trailers and marine systems where the battery may be exposed to dust, moisture and the general abuse that comes with travelling.
It should still be installed correctly and is not intended for under-bonnet use.
On/Off/Reset at the Battery
The integrated control button makes it simple to isolate the battery or reset the BMS without disconnecting cables.
Press the button in to turn the battery on, release it to turn the battery off, or press it twice to reset the battery after a BMS trip.
A compatible lithium charger with dark-start capability can also be used to recover the battery where appropriate.
Built-In BMS Protection
The 200A JBD Battery Management System continually monitors the battery and provides protection against common electrical and temperature-related faults, including:
-
Excessive charge current
-
Excessive discharge current
-
Short circuits
-
High and low cell voltage
-
High and low temperature conditions
The 1.2A active cell balancer also works to keep the individual cells closely matched, helping maintain consistent performance throughout the battery pack.
Expand Your System
If your power requirements grow later, up to four batteries of the same model can be connected in parallel for additional capacity.
The Alpha Series also supports series configurations using up to four matching batteries where installed in accordance with Exotronic's requirements.
Always refer to the battery manual before configuring a multi-battery bank, particularly when combining series and parallel connections.

Important Installation Note
This is a deep-cycle lithium battery and is not designed for engine starting or cranking applications.
It is also not intended for under-bonnet installation. Install the battery in accordance with Exotronic's current instructions and allow the required clearance around the battery for ventilation.
