Product details

Factory radius arm mounts are another well-known fatigue point on Toyota Land Cruiser 80 and 105 Series front differentials. Over time, heavy off-road use, larger tyres and increased suspension loads can lead to cracking around the factory mounts.

One of the most common causes we see is the use of castor correction or polyurethane bushes. While they serve an important purpose, they typically allow less flex than the factory rubber bushes, transferring greater loads into the factory mounts and increasing stress on the welds during articulation.

Designed to reinforce the factory radius arm mounts, these weld-on brace plates increase both material thickness and overall strength, helping reduce the risk of future cracking on vehicles used for touring, towing and demanding off-road conditions.

Manufactured with precision in Newcastle, NSW by the team at Rampt Customs, each brace plate is CNC cut in-house from 6mm GR250 mild steel for excellent strength, fitment and long-term durability.

  • Material: CNC-cut 6mm GR250 mild steel
  • Purpose: Reinforces factory radius arm mounts on the front differential housing
  • Suitable For: Chassis repairs and preventative reinforcement
  • Compatible With: Factory suspension, Superflex and Hyperflex radius arms (optional hardware available)

What's Included

Base Kit

  • 4 × Radius arm mount brace plates
  • Replacement M16 high-tensile mounting hardware

Optional Components

Superflex Option

  • 2 × 14mm spacers
  • Additional M14 high-tensile hardware

Hyperflex Option

  • 4 × 14mm spacers
  • Additional M14 high-tensile hardware

Fitment Notes

  • Each brace plate is unique and corresponds to a specific factory radius arm mount.
  • Existing cracks should be correctly repaired before reinforcement plates are installed.
  • Due to normal variations in factory weld profiles, minor grinding of either the brace plate or factory weld may be required to achieve the best fit.

Why Reinforce Radius Arm Mounts?

The factory radius arm mounts are subjected to significant loads during off-road driving, particularly on vehicles fitted with suspension lifts, larger tyres or firmer suspension bushes. Reinforcing these mounts before cracking occurs can help improve long-term durability and reduce the likelihood of costly repairs.

Welding Preparation

These plates are supplied as plasma-cut components. Plasma cutting leaves a thin nitride layer along the cut edge, which should be lightly cleaned or ground prior to welding to achieve the best weld quality. Leaving this coating in place can reduce weld quality in a similar way to welding over a painted surface.
